2025 Fall Player Assessment
UPAK Youth Basketball Teams
Boys & Girls | K – 2nd Grade Recreation (Littles)
Boys and Girls | 3rd - 8th Grade Competitive Travel Teams
At UPAK, we welcome athletes of all skill levels—from beginners just learning the game to advanced players ready to compete.
Basic assessments at the beginning of the season for our youngest players help coaches build teams based on skill level, ensuring balance and a more enjoyable experience for everyone. These evaluations also help identify children who may need additional support with foundational skills such as dribbling, passing, and coordination. Additionally, they provide coaches with valuable insights to tailor practices and set appropriate developmental goals.
For our 3rd through 8th competitive teams our goal is a fair and transparent process for evaluating players based on their skills, attitude, and potential. We want to build well-balanced rosters with complementary abilities, such as ball handling, shooting, and defense. Beyond physical ability, we also assess a player's effort, coachability, and readiness for the demands of travel and tournament play. This process ensures that athletes are placed in roles where they can thrive and grow, while maintaining the integrity and competitiveness of the program.
